Klavins Piano Unveils the Una Corda Piano, Redefining Acoustic Piano Design
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Klavins Piano introduces the Una Corda Piano, a groundbreaking innovation in acoustic piano design. Inspired by the need for a softer sounding piano, the Una Corda is meticulously crafted with a unique one-string-per-note principle, stainless steel frame, and a double-layer soundboard, setting it apart from traditional acoustic pianos.
Utilizing stainless steel for the static frame, the Una Corda achieves a remarkable lightness compared to traditional pianos equipped with cast iron frames. This hand-crafted, "green" product is a testament to the company's commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Measuring 1330 mm x 670 mm x 1170 mm, the Una Corda Piano offers a distinct playing experience, with a modified action that allows for faster play compared to typical upright piano actions.
David Klavins, the founder of Klavins Piano, embarked on the Una Corda project in February 2014 in Balingen, Germany, and completed it in December 2020 in Kuldiga, Latvia. The design process involved meticulous research and analysis of piano sound, resulting in a disruptive, strictly functional piano design that appeals to a public open to innovation in a traditionally conservative field.
The Una Corda Piano was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence in acoustic piano design.
