POTIROPOULOS and PARTNERS introduce the Serpentine House, a unique residential design in Hellinikon, Athens Greece, blending fluid forms with the surrounding scenery in a promising area.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
POTIROPOULOS and PARTNERS have unveiled the Serpentine House, a stunning residential project located in Hellinikon, Athens Greece. The design concept revolves around a fluid, L-shaped form that creates a captivating interplay with the surrounding environment. The house is strategically positioned to form a well-defined edge along the perimeter of the site, while the curved edges soften its appearance towards the surroundings.
The innovative design stretches through a series of large canopies, covering parts of the courtyard and creating a staged sequence of closed, open, and semi-open spaces. Large openings punctuate the fluid form, flooding the interiors with natural light and emphasizing the building's connection with nature.
The building programme is spread over two floors, with the main living areas on the ground floor and the sleeping areas on the upper floor. The master bedroom, located in a private corner of the ground floor, offers direct access to a secluded area of the garden and the swimming pool, providing a perfect retreat for warm summer nights.
Designed in 2022, the Serpentine House stands as a testament to the firm's commitment to creativity, research, innovation, and excellence. The practice, originally founded in 1989, has evolved into Potiropoulos+Partners, reflecting the international perspective on the future of the built environment. With a strong team of highly creative and talented architects and designers, the firm continues to deliver the highest quality projects for its clients.
