Norm Air: A Private Hotel Designed for Luxury Chill Experience

Faced with the challenges of the Corona disaster, Hayato Ishii's Norm Air hotel aims to provide a place for expression for both guests and young artists. The hotel is designed around the theme of chill and art, offering a space where guests can feel the luxury of being surrounded by nature and enjoy a place to connect with artists who have lost a place to express themselves. The exterior is designed to blend in with the natural environment, with a clear contrast between the interior and exterior, providing a comfortable space to experience the surroundings.

The hotel, with a floor area of 921.06m2 and a building area of 245.47m2, is a wooden 2-story building designed to maximize the feeling of floating in the air, overlooking Lake Kawaguchi. The project started in September 2020, with construction beginning in October 2021 and an opening date set for July 2022.

Despite the challenges of harmonizing the building design with the natural surroundings, the hotel offers a unique and nostalgic space where people can feel at ease and enjoy a sense of unity. The hotel's unique properties and design realization technology ensure that it stands out as a luxurious and extraordinary experience for its guests.

The hotel, awarded Silver in A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2023, is a testament to Hayato Ishii's commitment to creating meaningful spaces that balance function, cost, and design, reflecting the unique dialogue with the builder and the client's wishes. Norm Air is a true reflection of Ishii's dedication to providing a luxurious and unforgettable experience for its guests.
