Li Lang's Visionary Design for The Hyatt Residence

Li Lang's project, The Hyatt Residence, is a groundbreaking 360 square meter house design that redefines family living spaces. The design team deeply considered the diverse needs of different family members, creating a space that offers both communal areas and individual independence. The project, which started in March 2020 and was completed in January 2021 in Changsha, China, has been recognized with the prestigious A' Design Award in 2022.

The Hyatt Residence is a testament to Li Lang's innovative approach to interior design. The project maximally meets the different needs of family members, allowing them to live together while having their own relatively independent spaces. The design is not only suitable for the aging life in the next 20 years but also satisfies various demands of family members at different ages. By breaking the original separate three-story pattern, the design creates rich spatial layers through the floor design with diverse shapes and sizes, offering a truly unique living experience.

The design team overcame numerous creative, technical, and research challenges to bring The Hyatt Residence to life. By dismantling the existing concrete stair to install an elevator, the team made room for a lobby and storage area, while also adding a stair in the living room to connect the first and second floors. The elevator room on the first floor serves a dual function as a hallway and storage space, while the balcony on the first floor features a separate area that doubles as an indoor garden and a private space for family members to relax and socialize.

Li Lang's dedication to creating a functional and aesthetically pleasing living space is evident in every aspect of The Hyatt Residence. The design team's meticulous attention to detail and thoughtful consideration of family dynamics have resulted in a truly exceptional project that sets a new standard for modern family homes.
