A stunning renovation project of the River Mall embankment in Kyiv, Ukraine, designed to create a space where people would willingly spend time, is now open to the public.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Iurii Baigot's River Mall Embankment Renovation project is a breathtaking transformation of a 300-meter embankment, offering a circular structure that provides long walks and different behavioral scenarios. The project is a part of the River Mall shopping center, located on the Left bank of the Dnipro River in Kyiv.
The renovated embankment features an imitation of wild mangrove isles, a multifunctional terrace, a wide pontoon on the water, and adult plane trees providing shade in the summer. The design elements deliberately provoke visitors to stop or linger near the water, creating a modern, comfortable space that meets social needs for rest, communication, and active leisure.
The project is fully inclusive and variable, serving a range of active and passive zones for people of all ages, and is a popular Instagram spot. The embankment perfectly complements the surrounding environment and serves as a transitional landscape element for the living community.
A semi-isolated public embankment renovation with a wide range of entertainment possibilities, the design concept reflects waves and creates a visual flow of space through carefully planned paving patterns and landscaping elements.
The project, completed in April 2021, is open to the public and fully functioning, providing a beautiful and sustainable riverbank landscape for the community to enjoy.
For more than 20 years, Iurii Baigot's company, LDesign, has been creating and implementing complex landscape designs for urban spaces, social and private businesses, and government, guided by sustainable design principles and a deep connection with nature.
