Shenzhen Longyuan: A Nature-Friendly Campus Design in China

CHINA -- /DESIGN/newswire -- Sep 14, 2019

Shenzhen Longyuan: A unique, nature-friendly campus design in China, completed in August 2018, reimagines traditional education with open, colorful, and interactive spaces, catering to 3,360 students in 72 classes.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Longyuan School: A Comprehensive Campus Redefining Education

The Shenzhen Longyuan project, designed by Kevin Hu, is an unconventional school that challenges the traditional education model. With a plot ratio of 1.24, the design overcomes the challenge of narrow space, creating a vibrant, interactive learning environment.

The design incorporates wooden furniture, aluminum sheets, and fabric art to enhance the atmosphere and safety of the space. The campus layout features separate entrances for primary and middle school students, specialized classrooms, and a unique teaching system that promotes compatibility and resource sharing.

The social corridor, known as the Dreamy Passageway, connects different areas of the campus, providing diverse communication spaces and reducing interference between the teaching and sports areas.

Longyuan School's architectural design was completed from August 2015 to April 2017, with the interior design finalized from March 2017 to August 2017, both culminating in the project's completion in August 2018.

Kevin Hu, the principal designer, has more than ten years of experience in high-end interior design services, with a focus on creating balanced and harmonious spaces that prioritize the relationship between people and their environment.
