Wang Zengqi Memorial Hall

Tongji Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd has unveiled the Wang Museum, a 9487 square meter Memorial Hall in Gaoyou, inspired by the literary work and hometown culture of Wang Zengqi. The design aims to recreate the light environment described by Wang, blending traditional Chinese architectural concepts with modern lighting design to create a bright and gentle atmosphere.

The illumination color temperature, carefully balanced at 3000K, integrates seamlessly into the historical district environment, enhancing the perception of the indoor light environment in the outdoor space. The project, which started in May 2019, presented challenges in achieving high-quality lighting details, particularly in integrating the building and luminaires.

With a focus on functional and visual effects, the exterior lighting design accentuates the transparency of the large French windows and the hall's iconic triangular windows, creating a seamless integration between the interior and exterior spaces. The project was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding expertise and innovation in lighting design.
