Nature-Inspired House Design "Nestled in the Green" by Tomomi Omachi

Tomomi Omachi's "Nestled in the Green" is a unique house design that harmoniously integrates with its natural environment. Situated in Tajiri-cho, Fukuyama, Japan, the house offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and gardens, providing a serene and immersive experience of nature throughout the year.

Embracing the concept of nestling the architecture within nature, Tomomi Omachi and landscape designer Zenjiro Hashimoto meticulously crafted the house to create a seamless connection between the interior and exterior spaces. The design reflects a deep understanding of the environment, bringing the tranquility of nature inside while maintaining a strong connection to the outdoors.

The "Nestled in the Green" house spans an area of 713.24 sqm, with a building area of 164.26 sqm. The project, which was developed from 2015 to 2020, stands as a testament to Tomomi Omachi's dedication to creating spaces that enrich the human experience through a deep connection with nature.

Tomomi Omachi's "Nestled in the Green" received the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authentically embodies experience and resourcefulness. This prestigious accolade celebrates the incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to significant improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.
