"Inner Vastness" - Redefining Residential Living

Noverta Chou's "Inner Vastness" is a 112.3 square meter residential space featuring 2 bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, an indoor garden, and 2 bathrooms. The open plan design creates a public area while a curved plan integrates an indoor garden in the living room, allowing for a seamless flow of natural light and ventilation. The project emphasizes the integration of green building materials, natural lighting, and innovative ventilation systems to create an environment that fosters a deep connection with nature.

The unique feature of the design lies in the emphasis on ventilation and lighting, achieved through the strategic placement of an indoor garden and the incorporation of an exhaust system to direct natural wind throughout the space. The use of curved lines visualizes the flow of the interior, creating a sense of fluidity and harmony.

Chou's meticulous attention to detail is evident in the customized planning of the living room, where the placement of the sofa in front of the indoor garden reflects the client's living style, prioritizing functionality and comfort. The design seamlessly integrates private and public areas, allowing for exclusive moments in each space while maintaining a cohesive and open ambiance.

The project faced challenges such as addressing the humid climate of the site and overcoming the architectural constraints of the space. Special base paint and a ventilation system were implemented to maintain the ideal balance of humidity, while elegant color schemes were used to harmonize the space and eliminate the abruptness of architectural elements.

Noverta Chou's "Inner Vastness" was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2023, recognizing its innovative approach to residential design that seamlessly integrates functionality, aesthetics, and the human experience.
