Interlude: Redefining Home Spaces with Noverta Chou's Vision

Noverta Chou's "Interlude" is a remarkable residential design project that breathes new life into an old apartment, infusing it with a unique blend of creativity and functionality. Inspired by the concept of a space capsule, the design elegantly captures the essence of sincere and strong love, transforming it into soft curved lines that define a warm pattern with blue, white, and silver hues. The project, completed in November 2021 in Taiwan, stands as a testament to Chou's innovative approach to interior design.

The project's unique properties lie in its meticulous attention to the needs of its inhabitants, including three pet cats. By reimagining the layout, Chou created a restroom with stunning North African Moroccan floor tiles and a dedicated bathroom space for the cats, while also expanding the master bedroom's bathroom to accommodate a bathtub and double sinks. The design also repurposes the original piano room into a yoga and reading space, cleverly integrating a shoe closet and storage room into the entrance area.

Chou's design realization technology incorporates curved woodwork partitions, hand-painted art, various tiles, ironwork, and glass partitions, resulting in a harmonious blend of aesthetics and functionality. The project's technical specifications emphasize the creation of a bright and inviting atmosphere, departing from the conventional stiffness of the original layout.

Chou's design philosophy is evident in the thoughtful interaction and functionality of the space. Tailored to serve two individuals and their three cats, the project includes dedicated workspaces for the home-based clients and optimal window views for the feline residents. The integration of a versatile dining table and work area behind the sofa adds a touch of practicality to the design.

Chou's design journey was not without its challenges. Overcoming the confinement typically associated with the concept of a space capsule, the designer skillfully utilized glass partitions to create a sense of openness and warmth, allowing light to flow through the space seamlessly.

Interlude is a testament to Chou's ability to translate the story of love and warmth into a captivating interior design. The project's emphasis on light and ventilation, combined with its innovative use of space, reflects Chou's commitment to creating a harmonious and inviting home environment.
