"Lockdown Shelter" - A Design by Shu Yuan Chang

Fontal Interior Design Co., Ltd. proudly presents "Lockdown Shelter," a progressive retirement home designed by Shu Yuan Chang. Situated halfway up a mountain in Taiwan, this project redefines the concept of a retirement home, prioritizing the ability to exercise at home in case of future lockdowns while offering a spacious and relaxing residence harmonizing with the surrounding mountains and forests.

The circular layout of the residence provides intuitive and diverse options to the occupants, with a wrap-around walkway drawing natural light into the room. The design features a large-scale space that can be adapted for various needs, from personal relaxation to accommodating family and friends.

Constructed with architectural concrete, wood floors, cypress, quartz tiles, and marble, the project is based on natural materials and colors. The design team focused on amplifying natural light and optimizing space utilization, creating a space close to the natural environment.

Shu Yuan Chang's "Lockdown Shelter" offers a glimpse into the post-epidemic era, addressing the growing concerns about physical health and the environment. The project provides a perfect progressive retirement home, integrating pure materials to shape a space that promotes mental and physical relaxation.
