Chen-Yu Chiu's Vintage Industrial Style Residence Completed in New Taipei City, Taiwan in July 2020
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chen-Yu Chiu's City Corner project is a stunning example of a Vintage Industrial Style residence completed in New Taipei City, Taiwan in July 2020. The space was inspired by the Vintage Industrial Style, focusing on maximizing natural light and adopting a calm and simple color palette to create a quiet and leisurely atmosphere. The design team implemented a smooth and coherent approach, reconfiguring the space direction, enlarging window openings, and utilizing rustic materials to achieve a harmonious feeling of rustic nature.
The Vintage Industrial Style direction was chosen to retain the rustic and old texture of the original space, with walls plastered in gray paint and the strategic use of natural color light and transparent materials. The design team's use of Morandi tones, solid wood, gray materials, and ironwork further contributes to the space's harmonious and rustic nature. The project covers an area of approximately 100 square meters and creatively implements the "no wall" concept to create a more spacious living area compared to the original layout.
The design team overcame challenges related to insufficient natural lighting and poor circulation by reconfiguring the layout, using transparent materials, and enlarging windows. The project was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2021 for its well-designed, practical, and innovative approach that meets professional and industrial requirements.
