Tea Shop Design Blends Zen, Martial Arts, and Local Culture

UND Design Studio has unveiled a groundbreaking project, fusing Zen and martial arts in a new tea shop located in Foshan, the renowned birthplace of Wing Chun. The design integrates modern aesthetics with brand culture, combining the local culture of Foshan with Oriental Zen, interpreting the unity of Zen and martial arts.

The project's concept revolves around the integration of Zen and martial arts, uniquely combining local culture and brand culture. The design draws inspiration from the famous Wing Chun of Yip Man, intertwining traditional cultural symbols with modern trends, advocating new tea-drinking methods.

The design's realization technology is a testament to its innovative approach, drawing inspiration from the wooden dummy of Wing Chun and employing traditional mortise-tenon skills to create a harmonious space. The transparent acrylic display boxes above the wooden stakes express the harmony between Lingnan culture and Zen tea, while native symbols of Lingnan culture, such as dancing lions and pot walls, add depth to the design.

Started in March 2019 and completed in July 2019, the project is located at No. 23, Guilan Road, Guicheng Street, Nanhai District, Foshan, China. The design team overcame significant challenges in combining geographical characteristics with brand culture, aiming to preserve and promote local traditions while meeting the needs of modern industry development.

UND Design Studio's exceptional project has been recognized with the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020, reflecting the designer's prodigy and wisdom in creating a space that embodies extraordinary excellence and significantly impacts the world.
