NIO Life Unveils Tube Collection: A Unique Bubble Column-Inspired Travel Line
NIO Life introduces the Tube Collection, a travel line of bags inspired by the common bubble column, providing a sense of suspension and visual lightness. The collection, designed by NIO Life and Tom Dixon, utilizes microfiber fabric and 100% cotton lining to bring the comfort and security of home to travelers.
The series offers a variety of choices, including messenger bags, briefcases, tote bags, and backpacks, catering to diverse travel needs. The project, initiated in 2018/8, reflects NIO's commitment to a sustainable future, incorporating best practices in recycling and material technology.
One of the primary design challenges was to find an ideal dimension that would provide both mobility and capacity, while ensuring a unique bubble column-based form. The product's unique design required attention to minimizing the size of gaps and their location, presenting a pleasing external curve.
