Introducing Ugly Monster: A Hilarious and Sweet Packaging Design

Ugly Monster, a packaging design project by JBBC BRANDING CONSULTANCY, was created as part of a university social responsibility project in Taiwan. The design aimed to promote a small town, Yanchao, and its famous fruit, grava, through a fun and unique character.

Ugly Monster Packaging Design
Ugly Monster, a character born from the bare land of Yanchao, Taiwan, is a unique and hilarious packaging design created to promote a small town with an aging population of elder farmers. The fluorescent green packaging, inspired by the local fruit guava, exudes positive energy and authenticity, aligning with the hard work of the farmers.
The design not only promotes merchandise but also serves as a bridge between young people and the traditional culture of the small town. Launched as a popsicle product, Ugly Monster gained attention nationwide and was reported by various press outlets in 2019.
The project, led by Designer Huiyu Zhuang and Director Jiunguo Yu, was realized from June to December 2019 in Taiwan. The design measures 70mm in width, 195mm in length, and 20mm in height.
