Lorca: A Unique Iron Ceiling Lamp with Embedded Poetry

Mónica Pinto de Almeida presents "Lorca," a ceiling lamp that intertwines poetry and lighting, creating an intimate and sculptural ambiance. Inspired by literature, art, and architecture, this limited edition piece is a testament to the designer's passion for emotional connectivity.

The ceiling lamp Lorca is a thin rectangular vertical line made entirely of naturally oxidized iron, featuring an excerpt of poetry along its body. The embedded poem, accentuated by hidden LED lighting, offers a unique and intimate interaction with the viewer, bringing a touch of surrealism into the space.

Beginning in 2014, the design process involved meticulous research, material selection, and prototyping. The final piece, completed in 2018, has since been exhibited at prestigious events and galleries, including the Codigo design gallery in Porto.

Mónica Pinto de Almeida's designs are a fusion of her artistic education and sensorial universe, reflecting her passion for storytelling through conceptual and architectural language. Her work has been recognized with the Silver A' Design Award in 2022, celebrating her exceptional creativity and innovation in lighting design.
