Mondrian: A Unique Suspension Lamp

Mondrian, a suspension lamp designed by Mónica Pinto de Almeida, is a unique blend of modernity and 20th-century aesthetics. Inspired by the painter Mondrian and the Neo-plasticism movement, this lamp aims to transmit emotions through colors, volumes, and shapes. The rectangular shape, built with colored acrylic layers, creates a dynamic interplay of six colors, interrupted by a white line and a yellow layer, offering four different views. The lamp emits diffused, non-invasive lighting both upwards and downwards, and it is adjustable in height through stainless steel cables. The dimmable LED lighting can be controlled wirelessly, providing a customizable lighting experience.

In the creative and production process, Mónica Pinto de Almeida utilized hand sketches and 3D processes to bring the lamp to life. The use of several colored acrylics and stainless steel cables for suspension ensures both aesthetic appeal and functionality. The lamp's dimensions are as follows: Height: 120mm, Width: 1320mm, Depth: 120mm. The lamp is designed to adapt easily in height and intensity, providing a colorful and dynamic element to any space.

With a meticulous attention to detail, Mondrian was meticulously crafted to achieve a balance of colors, forms, and lines, reflecting the designer's dedication to creating a piece that exudes harmony and balance. The lamp's unique design and innovative features have earned it the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures category in 2021, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence.
