Shiwanyubingshao: Redefining Liquor Packaging with Cultural Symbolism

Zhipeng Zhang's Shiwanyubingshao liquor design draws inspiration from the traditional Chinese lion dance, a symbol of cultural heritage and celebration. The design creatively integrates the visual symbols of the lion dance, using rich and delicate graphics to showcase the product's unique features. By blending Chinese traditional elements with modern design, Shiwanyubingshao offers consumers a new and captivating choice in the liquor market, driving sales and promoting cultural appreciation.

The bottle's black transparent glass body, reminiscent of ancient Chinese wine containers, is complemented by gilded accents, while the outer packaging features black special paper stamping. With a capacity of 500ml, the bottle stands at 22.5cm in height and 9cm in diameter, offering a distinctive and elegant presence.

Shiwanyubingshao's interaction with consumers is enhanced through the use of an illustration of a lion head on the top of the box, creating a sense of ritual and engagement. The design's "opening the box and uncovering the head color" adds a ceremonial touch to the drinking experience, inviting consumers to immerse themselves in the tradition of the lion dance.

The project, which commenced in November 2019, was brought to life in Shenzhen, with proofing and production taking place in Guangzhou in December 2019. The design process involved extensive research to seamlessly blend liquor culture with local traditions, aiming to promote Chinese cultural heritage and provide consumers with a deeper understanding of their own culture.

Zhipeng Zhang's dedication to merging tradition with innovation has earned Shiwanyubingshao the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2020. This recognition highlights the design's outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence, setting it apart as a truly remarkable and culturally significant creation.
