Smart Kids Wardrobe - Glay by Marco Guariglia

Marco Guariglia, a designer from Cecina, Italy, created Glay, a revolutionary smart kids' wardrobe that combines functionality with interactive play. Inspired by his daughter's desire for a wardrobe that doubles as a play area, Glay integrates digital elements with real-life interactions to engage children's imagination.

Glay stands out with its ability to transform into a play area, complete with a drawing board, coloring board, and a secret playroom. It also features a digital door with E ink technology, allowing parents to control its color and patterns via Bluetooth. The wardrobe's design encourages children to keep their clothes tidy while enjoying creative playtime.

Measuring 1500mm in width, 600mm in depth, and 1200mm in height, Glay was realized using innovative E ink technology and woodwork. It was exhibited at Salone del Mobile in Milan, Italy, after its completion in April 2018. Glay received the Good Design Award in Chicago, U.S.A., in 2019, recognizing its innovative approach to kids' furniture.

Marco Guariglia's vision for Glay was to introduce technology to children while preserving their interaction with physical objects. The wardrobe's digital door serves as a tool to help children understand the concept of time, making it an educational and entertaining addition to any home.
