Evolution Design creates a tactile and sustainable workspace for Barry Callebaut, integrating a chocolate academy and promoting employee well-being in downtown Zurich.

Evolution Design has unveiled the new Zurich-based headquarters of Barry Callebaut, a global leader in high-quality chocolate and cocoa products. The design concept aims to reflect the variety of flavors, aromas, and textures of cocoa products, incorporating natural materials and earthy colors to embody sustainability, innovation, and sensory pleasure.

The office features an integrated chocolate academy, allowing staff and visitors to witness the creation of new products. The workspace prioritizes sustainability, utilizing environmentally friendly, certified, upcycled, and natural materials to create a sensory experience for employees and visitors.

Occupying 3 floors in a downtown business center, the headquarters spans 3800 square meters and includes internal staircases linking three hubs on each floor, fostering circulation and a sense of journey through various zones. The project, initiated in April 2020, was completed in August 2021.

Evolution Design's innovative approach has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2022, highlighting the studio's commitment to human-centered design solutions and sustainable practices.
