FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
gad has unveiled its latest project, the Rice Wine Town Reception Room, a cultural exhibition space located in Shaoxing, Zhejiang. The design repurposes a historic rice wine workshop into a multifunctional waterfront commercial building, preserving the original red brick chimney as a centerpiece. The three-story building volume is strategically stacked and retreated to create roof terraces that offer panoramic views of the Dashu River, providing ample possibilities for the future use of the space.
The design draws inspiration from the landscape advantages of the site, incorporating traditional wooden frame architecture and the Domino architecture system. The building's facade is adorned with recycled bamboo, offering a sustainable and visually striking exterior. The modular design approach allows for rapid prefabrication and installation, meeting the project's tight timeline and cost control requirements.
With a focus on functional adaptability, the Rice Wine Town Reception Room is designed to accommodate various functions, including an exhibition hall, bookstore, flower shop, restaurants, and more. The flexible division of architectural space ensures that the building can seamlessly transition between different uses over time.
