Taizhou Z Center: Redefining Urban Architecture

gad's Taizhou Z Center project is a groundbreaking office building located in the heart of Taizhou, Zhejiang. The design of the building draws inspiration from the mathematical symbol "∑", reflecting the building's façade treatment and the flow guide of its entrance and exit. The project aimed to break the traditional paradigm of closed parks, creating a lively and welcoming interface for the bustling crowds based on the city's roots. The design incorporates key elements such as aggregate layout strategy, vertical expansion of composite functions, and place creation to boost vitality.

The high-rise center and shopping center in diagonal form create a convenient pedestrian flow path across the base, naturally forming a public and open city square. The building's distinct block-joining look and the use of materials such as glass and perforated aluminum panels contribute to the lightness and unity of the overall design language. The project successfully overcame the challenge of limited building density, turning it into a unique symbol of the Z Center.

gad's Taizhou Z Center project received the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2022, recognizing its remarkable contribution to urban architecture and design excellence.
