Renowned designer Paloma Sanchez introduces "Origins," a unique brooch and necklace design inspired by human history and diversity. The centerpiece of this remarkable piece is a 3,000-year-old copper spear point fishing tool, paying homage to the Anishinaabe, the first inhabitants of the Great Lakes area.
This committed art jewelry celebrates the importance of shared history and repurposing antique treasures to create something new and inspiring. Crafted from 18kt gold using a wax casting technique, the design features Japanese Akoya pearls and VVS diamonds, creating a captivating contrast of textures and a truly unique piece.
The project began in Michigan, USA, in January 2020 and was completed in the Beijing Atelier by the end of October 2020. "Origins" was exhibited at the Beijing Art and Design Fair in May 2021, receiving accolades for its exceptional craftsmanship and design.
