Urban Oasis: Redefining the Office Lobby Experience

Martin Chow, a renowned designer, has unveiled his latest project, "Urban Oasis," a transformative design for the lobby of an office building in Shanghai, China. Inspired by the significance of nature and green spaces during the 2020 #stayathome period, the Urban Oasis concept aims to create a more relaxed and cozy environment for office occupants, fostering creativity and efficiency.

The Urban Oasis project stands out with its unique focus on incorporating elements of nature, fresh air, and greenery into the office lobby, providing a welcoming and refreshing space for employees and visitors. The design features a careful selection of materials, including leathers, fabrics, glass, and metal, to create a harmonious and inviting atmosphere.

Spanning an area of approximately 370 square meters, the lobby boasts a thoughtful layout that includes comfortable seating arrangements, stone features, and a variety of plants, strategically positioned to enhance the overall ambiance. The project, which commenced in January 2019 and concluded in May 2019, has already garnered attention for its innovative approach to office lobby design.

Martin Chow, along with Alline Wang, led the design team in overcoming various creative and technical challenges, ensuring that the Urban Oasis concept would offer a seamless blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal. The project has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2021, celebrating its outstanding contribution to interior space, retail, and exhibition design.
