Lunema Specimen Typeface: A Modern Typeface with a Nod to History

Paul Robb's Lunema Specimen is a highly stylized contemporary neo-grotesque sans serif typeface inspired by 1900s san serif typefaces used in telephone books. The font features modern and generous stylish glyph forms, making it suitable for both small and large point sizes, creating an original branding typeface.

Lunema is a highly legible font in smaller point sizes due to distinct deep ink traps, allowing it to maintain readability. The font comes in 10 weights, each with an extended Latin glyph set, alternatives, and ligatures, setting it apart from other typefaces.

Realized in Glyphs, Lunema Specimen is a commercial font primarily used for branding and communications design. The project began in July 2020, with the commercial license released by Monotype in December 2020.

Robb and his team, Moira Bartoloni and Federica Simone, overcame the challenge of creating a stylish modern font with sweeping forms that maintain legibility in smaller point sizes while creating distinctive, stylish forms.

Lunema Specimen is a functional sans serif family designed to stand the test of time while feeling modern and unique. Crafted with great attention to detail, each letter shape ensures legibility at large and small sizes.
