Renovation Project Transforms Sanyou Mall into a Multifunctional Space

Lighting Design Partnership International (LDPi) has successfully transformed the Sanyou Mall, once Beijing's largest textile shopping mall, into the Beijing Xuelian Liangdian Dongsi Creative Park. The project, initiated in March 2020 and completed in September 2021, has turned the 1500 sqm space into a unique blend of office, small retail, and cultural space, featuring a theater, roof gardens, and exhibition areas.

The lighting design for the interior public spaces of the creative park aims to create an ambiance of an office lounge with cultural events and exhibitions, setting it apart from a typical office space. The building's North-South orientation and East-facing main facade have been accentuated with contrasting lighting designs, emphasizing the unique architectural elements.

The unique theater, with its narrow and tall structure and a glass roof allowing daylight, presented a creative challenge. However, LDPi's innovative approach led to the installation of functional and hidden LED strip lights, providing independent control for stage lighting and guiding the audience to the seating area.

Beijing Xuelian Liangdian Dongsi Creative Park is a testament to LDPi's expertise in providing professional lighting design services at an international level. The project has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2022, showcasing outstanding expertise and innovation in lighting design.
