The Lucky Plate, designed by JiaYi Cai, is a set of plates that embodies the meanings of luck, auspice, and love, with a unique and innovative design.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JiaYi Cai's Lucky Plate is a set of exquisite four-leaf clover dinner plates, inspired by the concept of hope, giving, love, and happiness in Chinese tradition. Crafted from high-temperature environmental protection porcelain in Jingdezhen, these plates offer a practical and aesthetically pleasing solution for modern dining.
The unique feature of the Lucky Plate lies in its ability to prevent sauce dripping, a common issue with traditional plates, and its grooves designed to hold cutlery, promoting good table manners and dining etiquette.
Measuring 24.0cm wide and 3.0cm high, the Lucky Plate is a blend of traditional Chinese culture and modern functionality, suitable for daily use and the modern food industry.
The production of the Lucky Plate involved a meticulous process, utilizing high-quality clay, glazing, and burning techniques, all rooted in the rich ceramic culture and traditional Chinese aesthetics of Jingdezhen.
Starting in June 2018 in Macao and completed in September 2018 in Jingdezhen, the Lucky Plate project aimed to better inherit and promote traditional Chinese culture, incorporating research and design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Rhino3D NURBS.
Despite challenges during the firing process, including deformation and cracking, the Lucky Plate overcame these obstacles to become a symbol of gentleness, vitality, and social significance in dining cultures.
JiaYi Cai's Lucky Plate has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2020, showcasing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authenticates experience and resourcefulness, contributing to quality of life improvements.
