FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Taipei 101 Observatory Entry Plaza - A Gateway to Taiwan's Rich Culture

Tai Chen, the renowned designer, has unveiled the Taipei 101 Observatory Entry Plaza, located on the 5th floor of the iconic Taipei 101 building. Inspired by the captivating coastline of Taiwan, the plaza showcases the stunning natural beauty of the country through innovative curved LED screen walls, providing an immersive and breathtaking visual experience for visitors.

The plaza, surrounded by curved LED walls, showcases videos of Taiwan landscapes, leading visitors to have a better understanding of Taiwan. The space features various changing/steady light plates, hanging fiber lights, souvenir shops, and the 101 Café, creating a multi-functional space for waiting, photographing, shopping, and exhibition.

Designed to fulfill tourists' mental needs, manage queues, and provide refreshments and souvenirs in the 30 minutes before and after their visit to the 88th-floor observatory, the plaza offers a welcoming and memorable experience for visitors while maximizing commercial benefits.

The unique wall lights are carved with family names written in traditional characters, and the front desk resembles Taiwan's highest peak, Jade Mountain. The hanging light plates represent Taiwan's topography and geography, connecting people from different parts of the world through changing lighting effects, paying homage to Taiwan's rich history and representing the present and future of the country.

Tai+Associates, established in 2001, embodies modernity, simplicity, minimalism, and purity, uniting architecture, landscape, and interior design professionals to provide versatile space planning. Tai Chen, the GM, led the design team, including VP Chen Te Chang, designers Pei Ying Lin and Ya Wei Cheng, and construction manager Wen Jen Ni, to bring this innovative project to life.
