Elephant Geometry: Mathematical Early Education Toys

Sha Yang's Elephant Geometry draws inspiration from the traditional Chinese story "Cao Chong Weighs the Elephant," integrating the concept of equivalent replacement with the area algorithm. This innovative approach allows children to learn area calculation through shape matching, fostering a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts from an early age.

This mathematical enlightenment toy utilizes single triangular and square magnetic accretion blocks to create irregular patterns, enabling children to calculate the area based on the number of blocks used. The interactive design encourages hands-on learning and exploration, making mathematics engaging and accessible for young learners.

Constructed using ABS, magnetic discs, and paper, Elephant Geometry is brought to life through advanced production technologies including CNC processing, painting, and 3D printing for the building blocks. The thoughtful design specifications ensure a comprehensive learning experience, with the body measuring 327mm long, 232mm wide, and 48mm high, accompanied by various magnetic building blocks of different dimensions.

Featuring an A4-sized collage board with magnetic plates, Elephant Geometry provides a versatile platform for children to create, learn, and display their works. The included instruction manual guides children through progressive levels of play, gradually enhancing their understanding of the area algorithm and computational skills.
