Designing a Community Park: Poly Tan Gim by Hu Sun

Hu Sun and the design team at Guangzhou S.P.I Design Co., Ltd have created a unique residential exhibition area, Poly Tan Gim, which seamlessly integrates the life of the riverside neighborhood with the experience of Lingnan culture. The project covers an area of approximately 12,000 square meters and features innovative materials, such as custom-made spray paint glass, to create an exquisite landscaped wall with metal hanging technique.

The project's design is a harmonious blend of traditional architectural language, Lingnan culture, and innovative materials, aiming to activate daily life and functional activities in the area. The use of gray tone stones, quartz bricks, and champagne metals adds a tactile and aesthetic dimension to the space, creating a community park that is both private and public.

The design team faced various challenges, including balancing limited space conditions, planning optimal circulation routes for different crowds, and rebranding the core area of old Xiguan. However, through careful planning and innovative design strategies, these challenges were successfully overcome, resulting in a Silver A' Design Award for Landscape Planning and Garden Design in 2022.

Hu Sun's vision for the New Shanshui Design Concept, rooted in the natural spirit and cultural value of landscapes, has been brought to life in the Poly Tan Gim project, offering a poetic space for life evolution and a comforting zone for the community.
