Kelly Lin's Xishuang Linyu Marketing Center

Kelly Lin, the Founder and Creative Director of Shenzhen BlueMoon Design, has unveiled the Xishuang Linyu Marketing Center, a project that beautifully merges the essence of Dai culture with contemporary design. Located in Xishuangbanna, China, the 812 square meter space is a testament to the designer's vision of expressing local culture through design.

The marketing center showcases a variety of sculptural hangings and ornaments with distinctive Dai characteristics, aiming to help people better appreciate the customs of the Dai Nationality. Lin's design emphasizes the fusion of contemporary art and local humanities, paying homage to the local culture and living experiences while creating a unique space model in Xishuangbanna.

The space features elements drawn from the humanistic imagery of the local area, including pristine vegetation, coconut branches, auspicious white elephants, and peacocks. These are harmoniously blended with curved tassel lamps, metal flower ornaments, round carpets, Dai pattern pillows, and single chairs with mortise and tenon construction.

Lin's design also incorporates functional partitioning, tea culture, and cultural creation space, enhancing the humanistic focus of the environment. The project, completed in May 2022, is a celebration of Dai folk customs, aiming to create a sanctuary in the rainforest and an ideal life residence away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Kelly Lin's Xishuang Linyu Marketing Center was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2023, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence in interior space, retail, and exhibition design.
