House of Forest PlayCapsule: Redefining Children's Entertainment

studio revo and fineland architecture have unveiled the House of Forest PlayCapsule, a unique entertainment space designed to provide a safe and engaging environment for children. Inspired by the traditional art of Chinese paper cutting, the project integrates 2D and 3D techniques to bring an ancient tree from fairy tales into the modern world. The space offers activities such as book readings, craft workshops, and lectures, serving as both a playhouse and a care center for parents to settle children in a safe place when they are enjoying no-child sites.

The 180 square meter space is adorned with color coating, wood veneer, carpet, and terrazzo, creating a visually stunning and safe environment for young children. The design team, led by Liebao Chen, focused on creating a space that fosters the spirit of exploration while ensuring the safety of the children. The project was completed in November 2019 in Heshan, Guangdong Province, China, following its commencement in May of the same year.

This exceptional space, following the library, club, swimming pool, and restaurant, was created for children to have their own time when their parents don't have time to take care of them. The House of Forest PlayCapsule was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence.
