Ripples: Redefining Systematic Wood Decor

Jacksam Yang's Ripples project in Taichung City, Taiwan, redefines the concept of systematic wood decor in a unique materials showroom. Using two convex shapes on the ceiling as a starting point, 8mm systematic wood decor is thinly cut and bent to achieve curves and fold line design, extending to the walls. The space cleverly explores the possibility of wooden decor, breaking away from the norm and showcasing abundant textures in a unique way.

Rich in details and textures, the ultimate craftsmanship is integrated into the emotions of contemporary time, creating an exclusive and unique materials showroom. The design organizes around aesthetics and innovative concepts, realizing the concept of design and future life.

Overcoming the vertical and horizontal quality of systematic wood decor, the project uses processing, cutting, and bending to fulfill the design of curves and fold lines, applying it to the wall and ceiling in the space. The 60.5 ㎡ space showcases marbles, steels, chevron flooring, bespoken lighting, dried florals, and edge banding, creating a unique and exclusive experience.
