Elegance: A Unique Fusion of Western and Oriental Tones

Jacksam Yang's Elegance design has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2022 for its outstanding blend of architectural texture and dismantled western elements integrated with oriental tones. The fan-shaped space is distinctively planned to translate layers of modernity and diversity, creating a tranquil yet abundant ambiance.

The unique arc-shaped space and wide-open floor-to-ceiling windows play a pivotal role in setting the urban chic atmosphere. The warm beams emitted through dim lighting, mixed-media of solid and void, and the overlapping effect between warm wooden texture and earth tones balance function and aesthetics, offering a truly unique dining experience.

Realized through innovative technology, the design features vertical decorative panels supported by the arc-shaped structure, creating a rich feast of imagination. The space is adorned with solid wood, grey mirror, iron, leather, marble, steel plate, and laminate, adding to its allure.

The restaurant's design is a continuity of the arc-shaped, rough surface and texture language of the architecture, incorporating curved lines and milling depth of the decorative panels to produce a fulfilled long and winding effect. The lighting further illustrates the elegant ambiance and circulation among people, shadows, and space.

The project, which started in July 2020 and finished in September 2020 in Taipei, overcame various creative and technical challenges to achieve its unique aesthetic. The design team, led by Jacksam Yang and Steven Kuo, successfully balanced the arc-shaped space with horizontal lines on the wall, unifying interior furnishings and the city landscape.

Elegance by Jacksam Yang is a testament to the designer's unique aesthetic sensitivity and attention to detail, creating a refreshing and relaxing atmosphere for patrons. The design has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award, showcasing its outstanding creativity and contribution to quality of life improvements.
