Tangens: Office Furniture System

Sara Kele introduces Tangens, a furniture collection designed to embrace touch and togetherness, inspired by the value of human relationships. The collection, born out of today’s circumstances and rapidly changing work environments, combines the comfort of a home office with the modularity required for contemporary agile workspaces, all while maintaining a sustainable approach. The Tangens range includes seating and storage furniture, tables, and room dividers, offering a comprehensive solution for various aspects of office life.

The Tangens furniture range is not only visually appealing but also environmentally conscious, with a focus on sustainability and durability. The collection features a durable wave spring load-bearing structure inside the seating surfaces, made of recycled materials and highly resistant fabrics. The furniture is designed to be disassembled into parts, facilitating future repairs and promoting a circular economy.

With a keen eye on efficiency in relation to space arrangement in agile offices, Sara Kele conducted extensive research, including personal testing of organic or recycled upholstery and collaboration with Materi’O Library to explore alternatives to PU foams. The project was created within the framework of Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency's DesignLAB incubator program and has garnered international recognition, winning prestigious awards such as the Red Dot Best of the Best Award in Design Concept Category and the Silver A' Design Award in Office Furniture Design.
