Villa Antioquia: Seamlessly Blending Interior and Exterior Spaces

Dante Luna presents Villa Antioquia, a 1130-square-meter private residence nestled in a 2630-square-meter lot in Cap Cana, Punta Cana. The design concept revolves around creating interior spaces that allow permeability, both physical and visual, with the exterior areas of the site. The extensive cantilever on its facade serves as the entrance threshold, setting the tone for the architectural marvel that awaits within.

The design is heavily influenced by the location's conditions, utilizing climatic strategies to optimize natural ventilation and capitalize on the breathtaking landscape, resulting in transformable spaces that delight the senses. The use of native materials, custom construction techniques, and large-format marble tiles creates a contemporary color palette and textures typical of its tropical Caribbean location.

One of the most striking features of Villa Antioquia is the architectural elements, including the walls, columns, and beams, which were meticulously crafted to form part of the final aesthetic. Custom formwork was used to mold the columns, creating a unique corrugated appearance that plays with shadows and patterns throughout the day, adding a touch of constructive honesty to the interior design of the project.

Despite facing challenges such as complying with complex regulations and climatic factors, Dante Luna and the design team have triumphed in creating a masterpiece that not only meets professional and industrial requirements but also contributes to a better world.
