MA ,KAI-CHUN's Residential House Transformation

MA ,KAI-CHUN's Space Approach project breathes new life into a 30-year-old residential unit, creating a modern and functional living space in Taipei City, Taiwan. The design seamlessly integrates the needs of a single man and his cat, incorporating natural, green energy elements into the structure and furniture.

The innovative design features a reconfiguration of three bedrooms into a single room with an open study area, catering to the dual needs of work and living. The open living room design not only preserves a sense of spaciousness but also provides stunning views of the surroundings, enhancing the overall visual experience.

Utilizing advanced architectural techniques, the design incorporates arches for the ceiling and facade, effectively relieving structural pressure and creating a harmonious living environment. The open living, dining, and study areas are carefully interlocked with straight and arch lines, reflecting the owner's unique lifestyle and personality.

The project, which commenced in January 2018 and concluded in June 2018, showcases MA ,KAI-CHUN's dedication to spatial innovation and thoughtful design. The meticulous attention to detail and the seamless integration of form and function have earned this project the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its practicality, innovation, and positive impact on the living space.
