Japanese Restaurant "Monya" Designed by MAYUMI EHARA

Renowned designer MAYUMI EHARA's latest project, "Monya," a Japanese restaurant located in Tachikawa, Tokyo, has been awarded the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2021.

The restaurant's design is inspired by traditional Japanese architecture, featuring a stunning wooden lattice facade that softens the strong sunlight during the day and creates a calm and elegant ambiance at night.

The 230 square meter space includes private rooms, a chef's counter, an open party area, and a terrace with a private garden, allowing guests to enjoy Japanese cuisine amidst seasonal plant flowers and trees.

The innovative design also incorporates advanced technology, such as soundproof slide shutters and partially openable sliding doors, enhancing the functionality of the space while maintaining its aesthetic appeal.

Embodying the essence of Japanese cuisine, "Monya" celebrates the four seasons of Japan, offering a unique dining experience that emphasizes the use of seasonal ingredients for both health and visual delight.

The project, which commenced in February 2019, was completed and opened to the public in April 2020, showcasing EHARA's dedication to creating spaces that prioritize customer comfort and satisfaction.
