Immersive Public Facility Design at Songshan Cultural Park

Millton Yu's public facility design at Songshan Cultural Park in Taipei is a 350 square meter space, with 106 square meters dedicated to the interior. The design draws inspiration from history, culture, and life, aiming to create an immersive environment that seamlessly blends the past and the future.

The design features a bathhouse, patio, and terrace, which are artfully crafted to evoke a sense of virtual reality while maintaining a connection to reality. The use of metal construction allows visitors to see through the space, while the fusion of sunlight and sci-fi elements creates an elegant and futuristic ambiance.

One of the design's unique aspects is the incorporation of white metal bars, glass, and mirrors, allowing visitors to experience the process of observing and being observed. The space also includes a white steel ladder that connects the courtyard to the rooftop, providing a relaxing area surrounded by greenery.

The project presented several challenges, including the integration of indoor and outdoor elements, which required innovative solutions to ensure proper drainage. The result is a seamless transition from the indoors to the outdoors, creating a captivating and immersive experience for visitors.

Millton Yu's design was recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021, honoring its outstanding creativity and ingenious approach. The design authentically combines history, culture, and futuristic elements, contributing to an improved quality of life for visitors.
