Exhibition Series "I am Nesia" by Chris Slabber

Chris Slabber's "I am Nesia" Exhibition Series is a visual representation of the effects of the 2020 lockdown on the human spirit, created during the hard lockdown in June 2020. The series documents the impact of loneliness and uncertainty, emphasizing the spike in anxiety and depression on a global scale during the pandemic. The out-of-focus images and the dark figure looming in the background symbolize the blanket of fear draped across society.

The unique technique used to create the series involves manipulating pixels by turning the focus in the wrong direction, resulting in photographs that resemble blurry watercolor paintings. Each piece is finished with a grain texture to enhance its emotional value. The large format light boxes in which the end product will be produced are designed to further amplify the emotional impact of the pieces.

Despite the dark themes, the "I am Nesia" Exhibition Series serves as a celebration of the human spirit, reminding viewers of the adaptability and resilience of mankind in the face of adversity.
