Eons: Exhibition Photography Series by Chris Slabber

Renowned photographer Chris Slabber unveils his latest masterpiece, the Eons Exhibition Photography Series, capturing the timeless beauty of nature's rock formations in a stunning display of abstract compositions. Inspired by the dramatic contrasts and textures created by sunlight on rock formations, the series presents a symphony of emotions through black and white photography, transporting viewers to a state of calm contemplation.

The Eons series is a result of meticulous exploration and study of sandstone cliffs, revealing the wisdom and stories hidden within the eroded rock over eons. Each image is strategically framed to extract the abstract art hidden within the natural formations, showcasing the unique personality and characteristics of each rock face.

Utilizing a Canon 5DsR and a 24mm - 70mm 2.8 lens, Slabber expertly captures the essence of the rock formations using natural light, enhancing the dramatic shadow and light contrasts. The post-production process, done using Photoshop and a camera raw plugin, further refines the images to bring out their abstract beauty.

These captivating images, shot with a medium format sensor, are suitable for enlarging to billboard size, making them ideal for interior decoration. The series offers various finishes such as C-Type Fuji Metallic Gloss, Black & White Ilford Fibre-Based, Diasec, and White Metal prints, catering to diverse client needs.

Chris Slabber's Eons Exhibition Photography Series, born out of a February 2021 hike, represents a culmination of artistic experimentation and research. The project involved meticulous study and documentation of the sandstone cliffs, focusing on excluding the natural yellow hue and emphasizing the contrast and texture.
