Diemme Academy: A New Concept in Coffee Education and Showroom

Renowned designer Edoardo Gherardi introduces the innovative Diemme Academy, a multifunctional space designed to revolutionize the world of coffee. The Academy serves as a showroom, a certified training school for operators, and a research center, all under one roof. The project, which commenced in May 2018 and concluded in February 2019, is a testament to Gherardi's commitment to excellence in design.

The Academy, spanning 600 m2, integrates advanced technological systems through wooden totems and a complex false ceiling. The space is meticulously crafted to accommodate various functions, including professional training, international competitions, and serving as the core of the company. Diemme Academy's unique design allows for multifunctional use of spaces, such as the bartender room and brewing room, which can be utilized together or separately through a retractable glass wall.

Edoardo Gherardi's vision for Diemme Academy was to create a space that embodies the company's research and product development qualities, offering a place for coffee enthusiasts to learn, explore, and connect. The project's structure, divided by glass walls and wooden totems, provides different degrees of introspection and highlights the high level of technological systems deliberately hidden to keep the focus on the art of coffee preparation and blend selection.

Edoardo Gherardi, the creative mind behind this groundbreaking project, has received numerous accolades, including the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design in 2022. His architectural firm, Gherardi architetti, is renowned for its diverse portfolio, spanning urban masterplans to industrial design, and has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the German Design Awards and the Iconic Awards.
