London, February 2022 - Xiangzhi Zhao unveils the 2182 Vessel, a revolutionary wine glass designed to enhance the drinking experience through its unique form and function.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Xiangzhi Zhao's 2182 Vessel is a speculative vase designed to transform the way we enjoy wine. Inspired by the influence of wine glass shapes on taste and smell, the vessel's large opening enables quick aroma diffusion, enhancing the olfactory experience. Its depth, reminiscent of the shallow Tazza cup, encourages a focus on the drink itself and showcases superb craftsmanship.
The vessel, made of ceramic materials, measures 50mm in width, 50mm in depth, and 140mm in height. Its design tags include "enjoy," "experience," "drinking," "speculative," and "smell," reflecting its focus on enhancing the sensory experience of wine consumption.
The 2182 Vessel's drinking process consists of two stages: the shallow upper part and the deep lower part. The large opening facilitates quick aroma diffusion in the upper part, while the smaller diameter in the middle of the lower part reduces the oxidation rate of the wine, preserving its taste.
The project commenced in October 2021 in London and concluded in February 2022 in Jingdezhen, showcasing a blend of international design influences. The vessel's design aims to encourage drinkers to focus more on the drinking process, elevating their overall experience through the ceramic structure.
Recognizing the significance of this innovative design, the 2182 Vessel has been awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category for its practicality, innovation, and professional execution, setting a new standard for wine glass design.
