YiQi Hanzi: Teaching Cards Redefining Chinese Learning

Mengyu Cao's YiQi Hanzi flashcards revolutionize Chinese character learning by using design thinking and drawings to make characters understandable to everyone. With 140 double-sided cards, each featuring a QR code connecting to the YiQi Hanzi Online Learning Center, learners can access a wealth of resources including words, sentences, videos, and writing strokes to enhance their understanding and retention of characters.

These flashcards not only make learning fun and engaging but also provide a holistic approach to understanding Chinese characters, their stories, and cultural significance. The project, which began in April 2020 and concluded in January 2021 in San Francisco, has been recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in 2022 for its outstanding creativity and innovation.

Mengyu Cao, the founder of YiQi Hanzi, has been dedicated to making Chinese calligraphy more accessible through visual and story-telling techniques. Her background in Graphic Design and Digital Product Design has enabled her to create a unique and effective learning tool that is redefining the way people learn Chinese characters.
