Renovation Project "Warming Fun" by Chen Chin-Shu

Chen Chin-Shu's "Warming Fun" is a renovation project that breathes new life into an over 20-year-old house, breaking traditional living room layout concepts to foster close family relationships. The project, completed in October 2019 in Taipei City, Taiwan, emphasizes a warm, comfortable living environment for a four-person household.

The interior area of the project spans about 106 square feet, with the renovation involving the transformation of the original 4 rooms into 3, enlarging public areas and the kids' room. The design integrates a large, customized solid wood table that serves multiple functions, promoting family togetherness and interaction.

Utilizing organic minimalism, the project aims to extend awareness of the five senses and echo a simple lifestyle, showcasing the peaceful, comfortable living essence. By cleverly combining materials, the design creates a spacious sense of the space, reflecting a simple, peaceful, and warm mood.
