Superstrata: The Future of Cycling

Arevo, a Silicon Valley-based company, has unveiled Superstrata, the world's first 3D-printed carbon fiber bike. Superstrata features a revolutionary unibody construction, free of joints or bolts, offering unparalleled strength and aesthetics. The innovative use of thermoplastic carbon fiber composite and proprietary 3D printing technology allows for customization based on the rider's body measurements, making each bike unique. The in-tube battery design in the ebike version and the unconventional absence of a seat tube further set Superstrata apart from traditional bikes.

Superstrata's frame is 3D printed in a single pass, utilizing a patented process that engineers the directionality of carbon fibers before bonding them with melting polymer, resulting in a highly impact-resistant structure. The customization options extend beyond body measurements, with the ability to choose components and colors, offering over 500,000 possible combinations. The project, developed and designed at Arevo’s R&D offices in Silicon Valley and manufactured at the company’s 3D printing farm in Vietnam, has garnered significant attention, raising 7 million USD from over 4000 backers in a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo in July 2020.

Superstrata has been showcased at prominent tech conferences and forums, including Web Summit 2021, PuzzleX 2021, and the Consumer Electronics Show CES 2022. The design has been recognized with the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Vehicle, Mobility, and Transportation Design category in 2022, solidifying its position as a trendsetting and impactful creation in the world of cycling.
