Revolutionary Carbon Fiber Lounge Chair Redefines Furniture Design

Arevo, a Silicon Valley-based company, has unveiled Mishima, the world's first custom-made carbon fiber lounge chair. Inspired by a legendary stone chair in the Mishima Grand Shrine, the chair celebrates resilience and impossible victory. Its unibody form, 3D-printed in continuous carbon fiber composite, sets a new standard for strength and balance, free of joints, bolts, or glue.

Mishima's frame is 3D printed from thermoplastic carbon fiber composite using a patented process, engineered with directionality of carbon fibers before bonding them together with melted polymer. The chair is completed with a stainless steel base and high-end upholstery made of vionette, mohair wool, or leather, offering up to 186 possible combinations for customization.

The chair and ottoman were launched in November 2021, making their debut at Web Summit Lisbon and PuzzleX 2021 in Barcelona. Mishima's design evokes contemplation while remaining minimalist and comfortable for various settings, representing a new approach to carbon fiber furniture.
