Jiabao Li's Unfinished Farewell is an online space that serves as a digital commemoration platform for those who have lost their lives due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The website provides visitors with a unique opportunity to enter individual "tombs" and engage with the stories and help-seeking information of the departed, offering a space for visitors to leave their own messages.

The project utilizes immersive projection technology to create a somber and reflective atmosphere, allowing visitors to experience a sense of sorrow, grief, solemnity, and melancholy akin to physically visiting a tomb. Each individual's space within the platform offers a poignant insight into the lives lost, emphasizing the human stories behind the statistics of the pandemic.

Unfinished Farewell's unique approach to visualizing the impact of the pandemic sets it apart from other COVID-19 data representations, emphasizing the individual experiences and memories of those who have passed away. The project has been exhibited at prominent art exhibitions, including OCAT Contemporary Art Terminal in Shenzhen and the Uncertainties: PRD Post-pandemic Contemporary Art Exhibition in Macao.

Jiabao Li's innovative use of technology, including three.js and p5.js for the particle system and floating messages, demonstrates a creative and empathetic approach to digital commemoration.
