FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Photography Artwork Project "Samsa" by Florian W. Mueller

Florian W. Mueller's "Samsa" project is a captivating photography artwork that aims to showcase the often overlooked beauty of insects, drawing attention to their extinction crisis. Inspired by the quote from Franz Kafka's "The Metamorphosis," the collection features specimens of animals, many of which are extinct or critically endangered. Mueller's use of the Leica SL2 system and a 105mm Macro lens, including the "Multishot" function, resulted in giant 185-megapixel images, available in strictly limited editions.

The project, part of the "Neglect" collection, was realized with the support of the Senckenberg Institute in Germany, where Mueller photographed the rare or extinct insects. Overcoming technical challenges, Mueller spent four days on-site and two weeks in post-production to create these remarkable artworks. The series aims to change viewers' perspectives on insects, highlighting the urgent need for conservation efforts.

Florian W. Mueller, an internationally acclaimed photographer, has received numerous awards and accolades for his work, including the prestigious A' Design Award in 2022. Based in Cologne, Germany, Mueller's expertise spans architecture, landscape, people, and abstract photography. His impactful "Samsa" project serves as a powerful reminder of the delicate beauty of these creatures and the importance of preserving biodiversity.
