Sketchy: A Fusion of Dining Table and Sketch Board
Xenofon Hector Grigorelis introduces Sketchy, a table design that seamlessly transitions between a dining table and a sketch board, inspired by the 70's era and his experiences as an interior designer. The table's unique feature lies in its ability to transform into a 'cavalletto' for sketching and drawing, with light curves on the wooden structure and edges that pay homage to the 70's aesthetic. The table's top surface boasts a combination of two different materials, adding to its distinct appeal.
The table was digitally designed using CAD and 3D modeling software, with the top crafted using CNC in a curved manner. The legs and structure are made of walnut wood, connected using traditional joining techniques, and the mechanism allows for customizable gradients for sketching.
With a top surface dimension of 2500 x 900mm and a height of 770mm, Sketchy offers a versatile and functional design, suitable for various settings such as dining, conventions, meetings, and artistic endeavors.
